New View - Crete your own Unit!

Contionuing with the development, we are producing a new view to design your units. So start getting your biomes and use them to design the units of your dreams. The image below will show you a preview of this game section.

Alpha 0.6 We can colonize regions now!

We updated Xhelos to the latest 0.6 version. With this version we can create secondary colonies and gain resources from time to time. Well, until we can build units, this version will not be very useful, but that's just the next step in the game.

We are getting closer to having an initial version Xhelos playable. The next step is to design creatures and for this we will need the biomes conquering working.

So, what is a biome? Well, it's something like the parts with which you can assemble your creature. If you have a region with a biome, you can use ot when designing your creatures. If you do not have the biome you can't design and  you can not build that kind of unity. Here are the different icons for biomes, perhaps this will change in the future:

  •   Chassis: The way you movilize the unit is related to this biome.
  •    Nucleus: It gives some general benefits to your units.
  •    Weapon: The different types of weapons with which you can build your units.
  •    Expansion: Increase the capacity of certain characteristics of your units.

Upgrade to Planet View

Hello friends, we have been working on colony creation, and to do that, we needed to revamp the planetary view. Here are some of the changes that we are currently developing:

Planet View Change's:

  • Portals, Constructions and Great Dominion Icons in regions: You will be able to conquer some special construction around the planet to gain some capacity of doing stuff like traveling between planets and gain control on the entire planet.
  • Units in Region: We will show the quantity of units that exist in a region, showing their allegiances, allies, enemies or the AI.
  • Resources in Region: Now we will be able to show in a easy way the existing resources in the planet region.
  • Biomes in Region: The biomes are a special resource that allow you to gain access to different creature pieces, that you will use to create the Unit of your dream.

The Improved Planet  View, still in development.

We will soon upload the new changes to the server, but only new registered user will see this new stuff. See you soon!

Our next milestones

I have been studying the actual state of the game and I think that we need 2 more months to leave the game in Beta State. I dont know if the Beta would be public or not but it is my will to leave the game in a playable state.

So this is the direction that is going to take the game in the next two months:

  • Colony Building and Resource Management
  • Biomes and Unit Design
  • Research and Player Experience
  • Movement Between Regions,Planets and Stars
  • Regions, Planets, and Stars Owning
  • Polishing the Initial Steps of any players
  • And of Course, Game Full Translation to English.

After that we are going to focus on player to player interactions, the usuall stuff in a twisted way, like alliances an colonies looting.

The approximate date of the Big Beta Launch is: Monday,March 15, 2013. I hope I can accomplish this and continue developing the game.See you soon!

Alpha 0.5.0.3 Paving the way to Resource Management

So, this new miniversion of the game give us some bug fixing and small improvements on the game. Particulary, I have been hunting some bugs regarding the User Registration and some new visualization stuff of the colonies.

But the main change have been the way I use  Ajax in the game. Now the code is safer against possible errors in the game. It's have been a real radical change, but I have the feeling that the final user isn't goint to feel it.

But the big achievement of today is that we are now working on the Resource Management part of the game!.

Preparing the game for an Alpha Testing

Im fixing some bugs in the game that appears when the users register. Its have to be with the battle phase of the game. I think the new code for the colonies has a relation with those new bugs appearing here, but if you follow the tutorial, I think that all will be all right.

If you manage to find an interesting bug then you're more than welcome to write it on the forum , so I can fix it up. I will really appreciate it :).
